Year 6 Transition
Welcome to Friern Barnet School. This is an exciting time for new students as they make the transition to secondary school.
This page provides you with all of the information that you will need before you join us in September. There are a number of documents which will need your attention, and for students, a digital copy of the 'Welcome to Friern Barnet School' booklet.
Complete the Admissions Form - this is a very important document, which must be filled out in full. Please save the online Admissions Form using your child's name and send it back via email to admissions@friern.barnet.sch.uk. This document contains all the information that the school needs in order to create profiles for each student and to ensure that we are prepared for you coming in September. Please fill out and return this form by Friday 26 June 2026.

Free School Meals
If parents/carers believe that their child may qualify for Free School Meals, please complete and return the Free School Meals Application Form alongside your Admission Form. Please note that Free School Meals do not automatically transfer over from primary school to secondary school.
The allowance for Free School Meals is a statutory entitlement and should be claimed if your child qualifies. In order to qualify, you will be required to complete an application form and provide any evidence which may be requested. Free school meal entitlement will only apply from the date the evidence has been received and the application has been approved.

It is essential that students wear their uniform with pride. A list of what is required can be found in the 'Welcome to Friern Barnet School' booklet.
