Friern Barnet School’s motto is ‘Enjoy and Excel’ and despite the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has created for schools, we continue to strive to deliver a high quality education that meets the needs of every member of our diverse community.
Since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, we have continued to reflect on the effectiveness of the provisions in place to support our students, developing and adapting our practices to ensure that no student is left behind.
This action plan sets out the school’s approach to getting back on track and this strategy is at the heart of everything we are doing throughout the academic years of 2020 – 2022. We have used the Education Endowment Foundation’s COVID-19 Support Guide for Schools as a starting point in our planning, paying particular attention to their recommended strategic approaches of:
• Teaching and whole school strategies
• Targeted support
• Wider strategies
In summer 2022 we will share an impact report that evaluates the effectiveness of each of the actions we have, and continue to take to support the learning and progress of our students.
