At Friern Barnet we enjoy a very rich cultural mix of students and staff and we value this diversity throughout the school. As an inclusive school, we take every measure to ensure that all students can access and benefit from the broad curriculum we offer. In addition to becoming a Specialist Arts College in Performing Arts in September 2004, Friern Barnet School holds the Gold Artsmark award for its excellent work in the Arts. Sport England have also awarded the school Sportsmark status in recognition of the high standard of our PE. We have held Investor in People status since 1998 and have been re-accredited twice, and Investor in Careers status since 2001.
In April 2004 the school underwent a highly successful OFSTED Inspection. You can see some comments from the Inspection by going to the "About the School" section on the menu and the "Ofsted Report" sub-manu. You can see the full report by visiting the "Site Links" section of the Menu and following the instructions. We have also recently become an accredited Training Partner with Middlesex University, for students training to become teachers. The school is also part of the "Healthy Schools Initiatve" and our work in encouraging and enabling our students to live and develop healthier lifestyles is being recognised.
